Q: How to use KABOOM!?

General bait information

With any baiting system for rodents – whether it’s the ‘traditional’ poison pellets and blocks, or our poison-free, all-natural alternative – baits should be placed in areas where the pests are active. All food sources in that area should (as much as possible) be removed. Like humans, animals will head for the easiest to access and previously discovered food sources.

HOW TO USE

Simply place the tin or throw sachets of KABOOM! into those places where rodents are most active. This place should be dry, as moisture will degrade the powder. Over time, the powder will absorb moisture and become ineffective. This varies depending on the season and location.
Sachets of KABOOM! are ideal for roof spaces, wall cavities and hard to reach locations.

REMEMBER: There are no chemical poisons used in KABOOM! All the ingredients are commonly found in the home kitchen. It’s the blend we use and rodent physiognomy that combines to kill.

Q: My cat/dog ate Mouse & Rat KABOOM! What will happen?

Mouse & Rat KABOOM! is poison free so don’t panic. In some cases, if they ate a lot, they may develop some stomach bloating, feel uncomfortable and vomit. They will be thirsty, and seek out water – this is normal.

In most cases of bloating the gas will ease after about 30 minutes. If your animal is experiencing it, try slowly walking them on the lead or gently massaging their belly to relieve some of the pressure. It’s a great sign if you hear them belch or break wind because it means that the gas is leaving their stomach!

Q: Is Mouse & Rat KABOOM! safe to use around chickens?

It’s designed to attract rodents. Any animal that has a physically small stomach that consumes KABOOM! is at some risk. However, if you place the tin, or its contents, in a place where chickens or livestock cannot reach it, then all is well. For example, you can put the tin in an open-ended box into which mice can scurry but chickens can’t.

Further to this, we’ve had people use KABOOM! in and around hen houses and we’ve had no issues reported.

Q: Can I use Mouse & Rat KABOOM! outside?

Providing you keep KABOOM! dry, then yes. It will lose effectiveness over time as it absorbs moisture.

Q: Does Mouse & Rat KABOOM! kill by poisoning?

No. All the component ingredients in KABOOM! are edible. When demonstrating this to our stockists (if needed), we open a tin, and take a portion out and eat it, then and there. It tastes bland and makes the mouth dry, but proves the point!

Q: How does Mouse & Rat KABOOM! kill?

KABOOM! is made from 100% edible ingredients and contains no chemical poisons. It kills by overloading the rodent’s digestive system.

We developed it by studying the eating habits of mice and rats. After experimentation with various natural ingredients, we settled on a 4-part mixture. The pests are attracted to KABOOM! and usually over eat. They then get very thirsty and will go to a safe place to drink. The mixture is already partially activated, however drinking accelerates the effect. Once fully active, the rodent stomach ruptures, causing a quick death. There is no lingering for them, as with a poison. Once activated the KABOOM!  becomes inert, and remains so even after the rodent is deceased.

Q: How does Roach ASSASSIN work and is it safe?

Our Roach ASSASSIN kills roaches through their digestive system in the same manner as our ‘Mouse & Rat KABOOM!’. It is safe to use around pets and family, with the same safety recommendations for use around chickens and livestock.

Q: How much E3 Laundry Powder do I use?

In a front loading machine use about 4 to 5 grams of E3. That’s roughly a level teaspoon of E3. If you use a top loading machine, then use 4 level teaspoons – or 1 level dessert spoon.

Q: What is the recommended serving for Beaky Bites muffins?

Beaky Bites muffins are intended as treats only, and we recommend a serving size of one muffin a week or fortnight, based on your birds diet, health and their individual circumstances.

Q: What is the best way to store Beaky Bites muffins?

Once cooked the muffins can be stored in the fridge for up to three days in an airtight container. For storage beyond that point, they can be frozen in an airtight container or bag and defrosted as necessary. Make sure they are completely thawed before serving.

Q: How to use Beaky Bites muffins as an introduction to new flavours for your bird?

Our muffins are primarily designed as treats, but have the benefit of introducing your birds to new flavours and ingredients. If you’re trying to wean your bird off an all seed diet, or if you’re trying to convince that picky eater that vegetables are tasty – getting them used to new tastes can encourage them to try them in other ways. Our Sweet Potato and Almond mix in particular is an excellent way to get them used to the flavours you might be aiming to add into your birds diet!
